Daphne is the founder of Doing Well, a holistic nutrition and wellness coaching practice, as well as a new mother, designer and longtime resident of Manhattan's Lower East Side. We chose to feature a New Yorker for our inaugural post because, in a city where residents walk truly everywhere, our thoughtfully designed and durable sandals can walk the walk.

How would you describe your style?

Uncomplicated but un-boring.

Who is currently inspiring you? Sartorially, culturally, or otherwise?

I'm inspired by my clients. And Terry Gross.

What do you look for when you shop i.e. quality, sustainability, value, etc?

Simplicity and specialness.

What is your favorite shoe from Emme Parsons?

The Cecilia in Red.

How would you style it for a full day on the go?

Invisible, elegant sandals work with everything! I would wear them with beat-up Levis or a long summer dress.

Guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure?

More like indulgences: vintage clothes and body work.

Tell us about your company, Doing Well and how it came to be?

Doing Well is my vision of health: simple, straightforward and real-life friendly. I overcame lifelong endometriosis symptoms through diet and lifestyle which inspired me to get certified as a Health Educator and become a holistic nutritionist. When I work with someone one-on-one we customize a nutrition and lifestyle plan together. I emphasize simple adjustments that have a big impact on things like weight management, energy levels and health challenges.

What is the best piece of advice you received as a new mother?

There's too much advice. Mother knows best.

Best kept New York secret?

Arcade Bakery.

Describe your perfect summer day in New York.

A cozy morning at home with my husband and son. Then Pali and I make huge salads for lunch and enjoy time alone together while the baby naps. An afternoon stroll /outing to the market, a shop or a gallery. And we end the day with some friends coming by for a home cooked dinner and relaxed hang.
