Bella Thomas

Bella Thomas is a Sydney-based model. With a minimal approach to dressing that doesn’t shy away from a pop of color or a lively fringe, the half-Indian Australian draws from a deep well of aesthetic inspiration — from the solace she finds at the ocean, to her diverse circle of friends. Here, she styles the Folded Slide and Ernest fisherman sandal with pieces from her own wardrobe.

How would you describe your style?

Classic and comfortable. I don’t like having to think about it too much, I try to keep my wardrobe seamless so I can literally pick a few things out with little to no thought.

What do you look for when you shop i.e. quality, sustainability, value, etc?

I definitely prefer to invest in pieces that will last me years, I try to not fall into trends. Sustainability is always something I look for.

Who is currently inspiring you? Sartorially, culturally, or otherwise?

My friends are constantly inspiring me, I feel lucky to have them in my life. Close connection with loved ones that are both near and far is always something that inspires me to be present. I always seem to come back to this as inspiration.

What is your current favorite shoe from Emme Parsons, and how would you style it?

Folded Slide in Ivory! I would style this either how I have in these images, or with some baggier pants and a loose white tee.

Guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure?

A guilty night in binging a ‘bad’ but oh so good tv show.

Favorite beach in the world & why?

A couple of years ago a friend of mine in Mallorca gave me the name of a secret beach she goes to with her family. I could never tell you where but it was one of the most magical beaches I’ve spent time at.

Favorite meal to cook for friends?

I love cooking a good curry for my friends, it’s so warming and always invites some good conversation.

Best kept Sydney secret?

Again, I couldn't dare share the name. There is this beautiful open grassland near where I grew up in Sydney. It overlooks the ocean, I would always find myself here at sunset, it is the most beautiful.
