Lilli Millhiser

Lilli Millhiser caught our eye when she came to our SS20 press preview on a September day in New York. A stylist and fashion director whose clients include Porter, Oscar de la Renta and Into the Gloss, Lilli’s knack for mixing modern silhouettes with vintage accessories, jeans, and dresses — not to mention her skill for finding pieces that look like Old Celine — drew us in.

Here, she styles her picks from our Resort collection with her understated and practical personal aesthetic.

How would you describe your style?

Relaxed, understated, classic

How does practicality play a role in your life, style, work?
Very much so. I'm on my feet a lot so try to wear comfortable shoes I can run around town in or be on set all day in. And I always have to have pockets, so I'm usually in jeans.

Favorite aspect of your job as a stylist?
Making a beautiful image I'd actually want to tear out and save.  It doesn't always happen, but it's glorious when it does.

Who is currently inspiring you? Sartorially, culturally, or otherwise?
I do love what's happening at Celine, especially because it doesn't really require buying too much new, it's all stuff I more or less already have in my closet. I miss Pheobe too though — her collections really were unique. And I love Lemaire.

My mom just gave me the Avedon advertising book and it's amazing.

Guilty or not so guilty pleasure?
Candy. I should really cut back.

What is your favorite style from the new Resort collection and how do you style it?
Love the Adele and their 70's vibe. Paired with a black vintage fringed skirt suit I found a couple of years ago and some black polka dot tights. It would also be chic to mix up the pairs too — one black and one paprika.
